The Agency should consider IN PERSON Spanish classes both for the bilingual staff as well as for those looking to learn. Often the vocabulary used in relation to disasters is not one commonly used in conversational Spanish. As guidance in Spanish is lacking, this would help maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism with Spanish-speaking disaster survivors. Also, beginner classes ought to be considered for those caseworkers who are interested in adding that to their experience.
